Easter — St Luke's Church

The Prayer Course

We’re coming together for four Thursdays in Lent to do the Prayer Course together, which is a course produced by the good people at 247 Prayer. Join us in the Lower Hall at 7.30 starting Thursday 20th March.

Maundy Thursday Meal

Join us at 7.30pm on Thursday 17th April as we share a simple meal together and remember the Last Supper when Jesus shared a meal with his disciples just before his betrayal.

Good Friday

Good Friday is one of the most significant days in our church life together, and we’re trying something new on Good Friday this year.

Our main service will be our Worship at the Cross service, which will combine readings, reflections and contemporary worship. Arrive from 1.30pm for hot cross buns and the service will take place between 2 and 3pm. Kids worship will be happening upstairs at the same time.

Alternatively, there will also be a short 30-minute service at 8.30am too for those who can’t make the afternoon.

Easter All-Age Communion

Hallelujah! He is risen!

Join us at 10am on Easter Day as we celebrate Jesus’ triumph over death together.

Easter Monday Pilgrimage

We’ll be joining with churches across the diocese and beyond to walk to St Albans Cathedral for an Easter celebration on Easter Monday (21st April). The music will be led by Peter Russell, who sometimes leads worship at St Luke’s, and the speaker at the service will be our very own Becki Chafe.

Gather from 12pm at St Luke’s, or join us at the Abbey at 1pm. The service starts at 2.30pm.
